The term “editorial office” may refer either to an editorial department within a publishing organization, which manages editorials (opinion pieces) and other editorial content, or to a service company that provides professional support for scholarly journal publishing. In a news or publishing context, the editorial office is where the publication’s views on current issues are developed and its editorial content is prepared. As a service company, an editorial office provides support for peer-review journals, including manuscript management, coordination of peer review, and communication with authors and reviewers.
